The Isla Café

A new-wave café bringing specialty coffee culture, French-style pastries, artisan gelato and relaxed brunch to Watamu. Isla is the kind of place that didn't exist on the Kenyan coast five years ago, a thoughtfully curated space where the espresso is properly dialled in, the croissants are flaky, and the vibe is effortlessly cool. Already gaining a loyal following among Watamu's growing community and is an easy stop for morning coffee, a slow breakfast, an afternoon sweet treat, or a casual bite after the beach.

What to Order

Start with the Italian coffee, properly extracted, not over-roasted, with milk alternatives available. The French pastry selection includes croissants, pain au chocolat, and seasonal specials as well as fresh bread. The brunch menu covers both sweet and savoury, making it a genuine morning-to-afternoon destination. The artisanal gelato is a newer addition and gives Non Solo Gelato some friendly competition!
